To twist, spread, and bend the rigid steel made malleable by heat, Michael Poast sculpts a dialogue between the materials of space and steel. Poast’s cut searing edges of metal release violent emotions against a contrasting beauty of smooth linear steel I-beams. Bridged together sections and charged sweeping forms evoke expansive spatial confrontation. color adds an element of unfolding time.
